Teba is a reggae artist based in Cape Town whose love for the arts began in community theatre.
In his words, he is “Born and bred in Gugulethu, toasted and buttered in Johannesburg…”
He started recording in 1996 with a group called Skeem and in 2003 worked with African Dope Soundsystem as an MC and bassist, alongside such artists as Black DillinJah, Zoro, Chronic Clan, Crosby, JJ Jessey Don, Red Lion, Juanthyme and DJ Dope.
Teba later worked and performed alongside Godessa and recorded with the crew members at High Voltage.
In 2004 he released his debut Soul Afro Reggae Dancehall album ''20-5-2-1 Manifesto''. In between performing and recording Teba works closely within his community as well as devoting his time and energy to youth projects, increasing awareness of “tings and tings” through music, poetry and theatre, as well as African and Township dance.
